Author
James D. Sellmann earned a Ph.D. in Chinese philosophy in 1990 and an M.A. in philosophy in 1983 from the University of Hawai`i. He also holds an M.A. in religious studies from the University of Hawai’i, which was awarded in 1981.
Sellmann is a professor of philosophy and Micronesian studies and serves as the associate dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Guam.
His book, entitled Timing and Rulership in Master Lu’s Spring and Autumn Annals, was published by the State University of New York Press in 2002. He is the author of over fifty academic articles, book chapters and encyclopedia entries. Born in Niagara Falls, New York, Dr. Sellmann has lived in the Pacific for twenty-eight years, including living on Guam for the past fifteen years.
